It’s the second year for the revived Wagoneer, and this year’s Wagoneer eclipses the previous years in several different ways. For example, in 2023, the Wagoneer provides drivers with a new engine option, a new trim, and a more extended wheelbase variant. In addition, the new Wagoneer takes several cues from Wagoneers of the past, and now with the Wagoneer L, there is a 7-inch increase in the wheelbase and a 5-inch increase in the rear overhang so you can fit more stuff and more passengers. Below we will tell you more about the 2023 and its towing ability, and once you are done reading, be sure to check out our complete Wagoneer inventory here at Hillview Motors!

Hurricane Twin-Turbo Engines

New to the Wagoneer lineup this year is the imposing twin-turbo Hurricane engine known as the Hurricane twin-turbo 510, which provides you with an improved performance and up to a 15% improvement in fuel economy. You also get more horsepower, more torque, and fewer emissions than many of its competitors. In addition, this new Hurricane engine option gives you two low-inertia, high-flow turbochargers for rapid response to throttle inputs. Also, the Hurricane engine provides drivers with high-pressure direct fuel injection and an engine-mounted water-to-air charge cooler with a dedicated cooling circuit. Standard with this engine is a Torqueflite eight-speed automatic transmission that will optimize your engine output with smooth gear changes while providing smooth gear changes and excellent power efficiency even at highway speeds.

V8 Engine

If you choose to forgo the new Hurricane engine, you can get the 6.4-liter V8 engine which doles out 470 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque which pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. If you want to tow something with the V8 engine, know that it’s exceptional, as it can haul around 9,850 pounds, which is among the best in the class.

Wagoneer L

New this year to the Wagoneer lineup is the Wagoneer L edition which offers drivers and passengers a longer wheelbase to go along with its more efficient and more powerful powertrain as the Wagoneer L comes with the new twin-turbo Hurricane engine to go along with much more space as you get best-in-class overall passenger volume, second-row legroom, and much more cargo volume behind the third row, all while also give you a best-in-class towing capability of 10,000 pounds. All of this leads to a driving experience that will give anyone confidence once they step behind the wheel.
