2021 Jeep® Gladiator Towing Features in Greensburg, PA

With any pickup truck, you can’t help but wonder how much it’s capable of towing. Can it tow a small RV while also having a full set of outdoor gear in the interior? This question has no doubt come up with the 2021 Jeep® Gladiator. This is expected considering it’s the first pickup truck in the Jeep lineup since the discontinuation of the Jeep Comanche in 1992.
Jeep Gladiator Tow Capacity
The 2021 Jeep Gladiator has a tow capacity of 6,000 pounds in the Rubicon trim and 6,500 pounds in all other trims. This is made possible due to the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and its 3:73 axles. The total output is 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
Jeep automakers also just released an EcoDiesel® variant that boosts tow capacity to 7,650 pounds. You can opt for this engine with the Rubicon, Overland, and Sport trims.
Performance Specs
With the EcoDiesel engine, you also get a bump to a ZF TorqueFlite 9HP75 automatic transmission that improves torque-handling ability. The torque is provided at a lower RPM, giving the truck more grunt and on-road fuel economy. This also improves rock-crawling ability if you plan to do some serious off-roading.
Another new feature is the Off-Road Plus that improves throttle response and enables short bursts of power for navigating through hard terrain. Finally, the inclusion of the U-Connect infotainment system produces real-time data pertaining to your off-road commuting. It displays multiple specs, such as the steering angle and status of the sway bars.
