Max Towing Capacity

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has long been a confident and capable SUV with a best-in-class towing capacity. For 2021, that does not change. It can tow up to 7,200 pounds of cargo with available 4×4 and several engine options.

There are four engine variations available in the Jeep Grand Cherokee this year:

  • Base engine: 3.6-liter V6 that puts out 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque
  •  5.7-liter V8 that produces 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque
  • 6.4-liter V8 that churns out 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque (SRT)
  • 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that pumps out707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque (Trackhawk)

Favorite Towing Features

Other reasons the Jeep Grand Cherokee is so suited for towing include specialty parts and features. These include an available class-exclusive Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension System with rear electronic limited-slip differential and available Selec-Terrain® traction management system for advanced handling despite any weather conditions.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a Trail Rated® ground clearance to further those off-road abilities as well. This feature is a given in our special Trailhawk® edition that includes even more off-road optimized features.
